What you'll be doingThe Research Chapter brings together experts who help shape better client and employee experiences across CIBC through insight-driven decisions. As a Senior User Experience Researcher, you'll lead and execute generative and evaluative research that helps teams better understand user needs, validate ideas, and improve digital experiences across web, mobile, and desktop platforms. You'll partner closely with Designers, Product Owners, Strategists, and other stakeholders to build research roadmaps, recommend the right methodologies, and deliver meaningful insights that influence product, experience, and business decisions.
Using strong analytical thinking and storytelling skills, you'll transform complex findings into clear, compelling narratives and actionable recommendations. You'll also contribute to the growth of our research practice by advancing methods, supporting research operations, sharing expertise, and mentoring less experienced researchers.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you'll succeed- Research Strategy & Planning – Partner with product, design, and cross‑functional teams to understand research objectives, define priorities, and build research roadmaps that support strategic decision‑making.
- Methodology Selection & Study Design – Recommend and apply the most effective qualitative and quantitative research methods to answer key questions, and develop research plans, discussion guides, screeners, surveys, and other study materials.
- Research Execution – Plan and conduct a range of generative and evaluative research activities, including interviews, usability testing, surveys, card sorting, concept testing, and A/B testing.
- Participant Recruitment & Coordination – Lead recruitment activities by defining target audiences, developing screening criteria, and coordinating scheduling logistics to support smooth study execution.
- Insight Synthesis & Storytelling – Analyze and synthesize findings from multiple data sources, identify meaningful insights and opportunities, and translate research into clear deliverables, presentations, and narratives tailored to different audiences.
- Practice Development – Contribute to the evolution of the research practice by embracing innovative technologies and artificial intelligence‑powered solutions, sharing expertise, and mentoring less experienced researchers.
You have relevant experience. You bring 3-5 years of dedicated user experience research experience with a strong focus on digital products and experiences across web, mobile, and desktop platforms.

You can demonstrate experience in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, participant recruitment, usability testing, survey design, and research platforms such as Maze, User Testing, Qualtrics, or similar tools.
It’s an asset if you have experience using AI‑enabled research tools and emerging technologies to improve research efficiency and impact.
You have a degree/diploma in Human‑Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Cognitive Science, Information Studies, Anthropology, or a related field.
