As Curator of Insects and Arachnids at ROM, you will guide one of North America’s most valuable entomological collections. This role involves conducting pioneering research in taxonomy, systematics, and conservation while developing exhibitions and educational programs that engage a diverse audience. You will also work collaboratively across various departments to inspire learning and mentor emerging researchers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the stewardship and strategic growth of the insect and arachnid collection
• Conduct original research and publish findings in relevant disciplines
• Develop educational initiatives connecting audiences with biodiversity
• Collaborate on interdisciplinary projects across art, culture, and nature
• Build partnerships with universities, Indigenous communities, and research organizations
Requirements:
• PhD in arthropod systematics, ecology, or conservation biology
• Proven research excellence with scholarly publications
• At least one year of postdoctoral experience in relevant settings
• Experience with natural history collections and research
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
