Postdoctoral Fellow Focused on Indigenous Partnerships

Shape ethical frameworks in wildlife conservation with Toronto Zoo as a Postdoctoral Fellow. This position emphasizes research on Indigenous partnerships for the National Wildlife Cryobank.

In this two-year Postdoctoral Fellowship, you'll explore Indigenous governance and data sovereignty while collaborating with the Toronto Zoo's Director of Indigenous Relations. Your communication and research expertise will direct the project outcomes that influence conservation practices and ethical community relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a defined research project including planning and execution

• Engage with Indigenous communities and stakeholders for project success

• Supervise and train students participating in the research activities

• Effectively communicate research results to diverse audiences

• Seek and secure funding for project sustainability

Requirements:

• PhD in Indigenous studies or relevant field, preferably under 2 years post-graduation

• Strong research background in wildlife conservation principles

• Ability to publish research findings in academic settings

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365

• Flexibility to work during weekends and holidays
