Position: Senior Manager, Research (12-month contract)

What is the Opportunity?

We are looking for a talented Senior Manager to join our research team and play a central role in organizing and leading research engagements, managing strategic and stakeholder relationships, and creating exceptional user experiences. This unique role will be responsible for developing and maintaining a thought leadership strategy informed by research and leadership across RBCx. Our ideal candidate mixes research, strategy and storytelling to bridge business opportunities with compelling solutions.

This critical role will split their time between:
Primary and secondary research (~60%), Managing resources, logistics and other admin tasks related to research practices (~25%), and Workshops and innovative ideation (~15%).

What will you do?

  • Consulting:
    You will work closely with our portfolio companies and RBCx brand as an internal expert on human-centered design and research. You will help guide teams as they conduct research, ideate and build their brands through content and thought leadership.
  • Research:
    Familiar with all aspects of research methods, is comfortable with end-to-end research activities. This will include quantitative and qualitative research with users, such as ethnographic research, concept testing, usability testing, surveys, and secondary research.
  • Strategic Ideation (uncovering future opportunity areas):
    You will carve our future opportunities by leading collaboration with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders to develop innovative ideas by leading research and strategy sprints. Uncovering strategic and human-centered opportunity areas to expand our businesses.
  • Facilitation:
    Lead the creation and facilitation of workshops designed to support product visioning, ideation, and other co-creative activities that bring cross-functional teams together towards a clear product direction. This may include half-day to multi-day design sprints to discover strategic solutions at the thematic, epic, or user story levels.
  • Manage:
    Coordination of logistics and other administrative activities as it relates to design workshops, research and similar events. Participate in internal dialogue to advance the research discipline within RBCx; be an ambassador of user-centered design, delivering its value internally and externally.

What do you need to succeed?
Must Haves:

  • 5+ years research experience
  • Deep expertise and experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research to uncover human insights with a focus on solving business challenges
  • Experience synthesizing research results into strategies and tactics
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams to align on solutions
  • Experience with content strategy and ongoing brand development

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Data analysis experience and extensive quantitative research background
  • Experience managing team members both formally and informally through mentorship
