The Krembil Centre for Neuroinformatics (KCNI) at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is harnessing the power of high-performance computing and novel technologies to integrate and analyze the wealth of data generated about the brain and mental health. Our research is performed in an open science environment, with an emphasis on reproducible data-driven research and a patient-centric approach to accelerate identification and treatment of mental illness.

A focus on global collaboration is key to transforming our understanding of mental health and its treatment. The Centre operates as an incubator for medical technologies to identify, manage and treat mental illness, while shaping policy at national and global levels.

The KCNI Whole Person and Population Modeling (WPPM) team is seeking a part-time, contract (6 months) Scientific Associate to support and advance a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary research program focused on multi-modal neuroimaging, machine learning, and precision mental health that encompasses fundamental and clinical research. Reporting to the head of the WPPM team, the Scientific Associate is a doctorate-level subject matter expert whose responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing advanced scientific and methodological expertise across multiple research projects in multi-modal neuroimaging, machine-learning modelling of neural risk mechanisms, and integrative risk profiles for mental illness across the lifespan;

preparing ethics protocols and renewal reports; supporting the design, execution, analysis, and interpretation of large-scale imaging and deeply-phenotyped cohort datasets; implementation of study-specific standard operating procedures; collaborating closely with clinician-scientists, biostatisticians, and research staff to ensure high scientific rigor and reproducibility; preparing and delivering content for publications and presentations, support knowledge translation and exchange activities, and promote WPPM research activities;

and providing functional supervision and training/mentoring to study personnel (research staff and trainees). The Scientific Associate must contribute to the strategic growth of research programs aligned with CAMH, such as expanding capacity, talent, and innovation, and must support applications for internal and external funding opportunities. The Scientific Associate will support scientists and technical staff in the design and execution of studies following established standard operating procedures but does not engage in independent research.

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computational Neuroscience, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of research experience in MR image analyses, psychiatric phenotyping, and statistical or computational methods.
