Applied Research Scientist at DECIEM

Join DECIEM as an Applied Research Scientist, where you'll innovate beauty products by translating scientific research into high-performance formulations. This on-site role in Toronto focuses on raw material analysis and cross-functional collaboration.

In this 12-month contract, you will play a crucial role in scientific innovation r expertise in ingredient selection and formulation science will help drive new product development across innovative brands like The Ordinary and NIOD. Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, you will contribute to transforming scientific ideation into commercially viable products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research raw materials and cosmetic ingredients for effectiveness

• Collaborate with departments to enhance formulation robustness

• Manage selection of raw materials and active ingredients

• Develop proof-of-concept testing strategies with clinical teams

• Generate technical documents for internal and external alignment

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field

• 3+ years of topical application research experience

• Strong knowledge of cosmetic formulation and active ingredients

• Familiarity with GLP and GMP regulatory standards

• Practical problem-solving skills in formulations
