Position: Research Manager - Province of Ontario Neurodevelopmental Disorders (POND) Network
Description
We are seeking a Research Manager with experience working in a fast paced research environment. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day operations of the Province of Ontario Neurodevelopmental Disorders (POND) Network, a multi-site network of researchers and clinicians across Ontario. Strong critical appraisal skills, effective communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills as well as excellent organization, time management, and priority setting skills are critical to the success of this position.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with PIs to run to the day-to-day operations of the network including monitoring timelines, deliverables, and budget, and coordination across sites and with funder including report preparation and presentationsManage studies within POND, including selections, training, monitoring and ongoing communications across sites and other studies and organizing investigator meetingsEnsure quality, integrity and security on all study related information and dataOversee submissions to REB and coordinating revisions, annual approval processDevelop and monitor timelines, balancing the demands of multiple projectsOversee research contracts and budgetsDevelop, manage and forecast study budgetsContribute to the preparation of required reports and knowledge translation projects (e.g. presentations, manuscripts, stakeholder progress reports, conference publications)Develop policies and procedures related to the research program, ensuring external regulations and guidelines are followedManage, orient, onboard any new research volunteers, students, trainees, and staffAssist PI in monitoring staff performance and annual performance assessmentsLiaise with regulatory agencies and key project stakeholdersTake a leadership role in the overall daily management of the networkOversee purchases and maintenance of all research equipmentEnsure research is conducted in compliance with the Tri-Council Policy Statement, Good Clinical Practice, and Health Canada regulations and policies governing clinical research (e.g.TCPS-2, ICH GCP, Health Canada & FDA)Support team activities (i.e. schedule meetings, preparing agendas/materials, taking minutes) and assist with research and related administrative tasks as requiredMinimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Master's degree in a health-related field or a degree/diploma in project managementAt least one year of research management experience requiredAdvanced knowledge of research practice, procedures, regulations, and research ethics board applicationsDemonstrated success in developing and managing project timelines and sub-contractsDemonstrated success and understanding of managing finances and budgets for projectsDemonstrated leadership skillsAbility to take initiative and work independentlyAbility to take a leadership role as part of an interdisciplinary teamAbility to organize and facilitate the productivity of investigators and staffExceptional organizational skillsSuperior attention to detail and quality of workWorks well under pressure, can prioritize and meet deadlinesStrong written and oral communication skillsProfessional and friendly demeanour
