Senior Research Associate at Molagri

Join Molagri as a Senior Research Associate focused on yeast expression and VLP production in Toronto, ON. Contribute to producing engineered VLPs and optimizing workflows in a collaborative setting.

In this full-time role, you will apply your expertise in biochemistry and molecular biology gained through a minimum of three years of hands-on experience. Your primary focus will be on expressing VLPs in yeast, enhancing yields, purifying materials, and performing routine quality control. Collaborate closely with our virology and protein biochemistry teams to ensure successful VLP production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engineer yeast strains for efficient cell growth and VLP yields

• Transform yeast with VLP constructs and screen expression clones

• Produce VLPs using small-scale bioreactors

• Optimize production conditions including media and induction strategy

• Maintain SOPs, records, and effectively troubleshoot workflows

Requirements:

• BSc or MS in relevant biosciences

• Experience with yeast transformation and small-scale fermentation

• Proficiency in purification methods like chromatography

• Solid knowledge of protein and particle QC techniques

• Strong recordkeeping and troubleshooting abilities
