Postdoctoral Fellow Molecular Virology

Advance molecular virology research on HPAI and zoonotic viruses at Sunnybrook Research Institute or the University of Toronto St. George campus.

This postdoctoral fellow will conduct experimental research addressing emerging and re-emerging viral threats. The work contributes to PRECISE Work Package 2 and broader multidisciplinary collaboration. Strong experimental expertise, independence, mentorship, and scientific rigor are central to the appointment.

• Design, troubleshoot, and conduct molecular biology experiments independently
• Lead rapid research responses to emerging viral pathogens
• Guide, train, and mentor junior laboratory members
• Maintain detailed records and reproducible laboratory protocols
• Publish findings and present research at scientific meetings

• Advanced tissue culture and virus propagation experience
• Strong molecular virology skills and experimental expertise
• Eligibility for Human Pathogens and Toxins Act security clearance
• Strong peer-reviewed publication record and scientific writing abilities
• Effective collaboration, leadership, mentorship, and communication skills
