Part‑Time Bartender – Inter Continental Toronto Centre (IHG Hotels & Resorts)

Your Day to DayPrepare beverages and/or serve food for the customer in a prompt and courteous manner while maintaining a high level of quality and consistency.
Duties and Responsibilities- Greet guests pleasantly, promote house drinks, and use up‑selling skills to maximize revenue.
- Prepare requested beverages, adhering to pouring standards and recipes to ensure consistency and cost control; coordinate food service with the restaurant as needed.
- Monitor guest behavior and alcohol consumption; cease service or alert management if required; verify questionable ages.
- Alert management to service or safety issues and perform appropriate recovery gestures per guidelines.
- Set up bar, perform pre‑ and post‑shift side‑work, and requisition supplies.
- Inventory unused liquor and beverages, securing all liquor before, during, and after the shift.
- Handle cash and credit, balance the drawer, and give accurate change.
- Inspect bar daily for cleanliness; maintain equipment and clean after shifts.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non‑alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods, and garnishments.
- Formal bartending training preferred.
- Must meet state legal age requirements.
- Must speak fluent English.
- Must possess a valid Smart Serve certificate.
This job requires ability to perform the following:
- Handling, carrying, or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds (bar ware, carts, boxes, bottles, etc.).
- Moving around the bar, lounge, and kitchen.
- Bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting.
- Communication skills are frequently used when interacting with guests, wait staff, cooks, and supervisors.
- Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
- Reading and writing abilities are used often when taking orders, describing cocktails, and completing paperwork.
- Basic math skills are frequently used when handling cash and credit.
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Hourly rate: $23.45.
