Part‑Time Bartender – Inter Continental Toronto Centre (IHG Hotels & Resorts)

Prepare beverages and/or serve food for the customer in a prompt and courteous manner while maintaining a high level of quality and consistency.

• Greet guests pleasantly, promote house drinks, and use up‑selling skills to maximize revenue.
• Prepare requested beverages, adhering to pouring standards and recipes to ensure consistency and cost control; coordinate food service with the restaurant as needed.
• Monitor guest behavior and alcohol consumption; cease service or alert management if required; verify  questionable ages.
• Alert management to service or safety issues and perform appropriate recovery gestures per guidelines.
• Set up bar, perform pre‑ and post‑shift side‑work, and requisition supplies.
• Inventory unused liquor and beverages, securing all liquor before, during, and after the shift.
• Handle cash and credit, balance the drawer, and give accurate change.
• Inspect bar daily for cleanliness; maintain equipment and clean after shifts.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non‑alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods, and garnishments.
• Formal bartending training preferred.
• Must meet state legal age requirements.
• Must speak fluent English.
• Must possess a valid Smart Serve certificate.

This job requires ability to perform the following:

• Handling, carrying, or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds (bar ware, carts, boxes, bottles, etc.).
• Moving around the bar, lounge, and kitchen.
• Bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting.

• Communication skills are frequently used when interacting with guests, wait staff, cooks, and supervisors.
• Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
• Reading and writing abilities are used often when taking orders, describing cocktails, and completing paperwork.
• Basic math skills are frequently used when handling cash and credit.
• May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Hourly rate: $23.45.
