Come make your difference in communities across Canada, where authenticity, trust and making connections is valued – as we shape the future of Canadian retail, together. Our unique position as one of the country’s largest employers, coupled with our commitment to positively impact the lives of all Canadians, provides our colleagues a range of opportunities and experiences to help Canadians Live Life Well®.

At Loblaw Companies Limited, we succeed through collaboration and commitment and set a high bar for ourselves and those around us. Whether you are just starting your career, re‑entering the workforce, or looking for a new job, this is where you belong.

The Ad Operations buyer executes strategic plans that are planned by the Media Planner/Sales team. This role focuses on setting up campaigns on Meta, Pinterest, DV360 and Google, closely monitoring performance and making optimizations and delivering post‑campaign insights.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute full‑funnel paid search campaigns: keyword research, ad creation, bidding strategy, targeting and budget management.
  • Monitor campaign performance and apply optimization levers daily: search term optimisation, negative keywords, bid adjustments, ad copy testing, extension strategies, match‑type adjustments.
  • Collaborate with internal brand teams, retail banners, and external agencies to align search efforts with broader marketing goals and seasonal business cycles.
  • Leverage data and provide actionable insights; report on KPIs such as ROAS, CPA, conversions, impression share, CTR and Quality Score.
  • Support testing initiatives including new bidding strategies, automation rules, audience layering, geo‑/device‑/day‑part optimization.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of retail search trends (shopping feed integrations, local inventory ads, competitive auctions, granular geo targeting).
  • Ensure tracking and measurement frameworks are accurate: tag implementation, conversion funnel verification, and ongoing QA.
  • Assist with budget forecasting and pacing to ensure spend delivery aligns with performance targets and business objectives.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • 3‑5 years of paid search experience (agency or in‑house) with hands‑on work in Google Ads.
  • Hands‑on experience with feed management and product data optimization (e.g., Merchant Center, supplemental feeds) to support e‑commerce and retail search campaigns.
  • Proven ability to launch and manage full‑funnel search campaigns across multiple product lines or retail categories.
  • Familiarity with e‑commerce and retail media environments, including product availability, pricing, and promotional alignment.
  • Experience leveraging Shopping, Performance Max, and feed‑based campaign formats to drive measurable business results.
  • Strong analytical mindset: comfort with large data sets, Excel (or Google Sheets), building pivot tables, simple scripting or query tools (SQL/Big Query) a plus.
  • Experience managing ROAS or CPA‑driven campaigns and reporting to senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills; past experience working cross‑functionally (e.g., marketing, creative, analytics) preferred.
  • Retail or e‑commerce media experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, manage multiple campaigns simultaneously, and pivot quickly between strategic and tactical activities.
Additional Qualifications
  • Experience with Search Ads 360 or similar platforms.
  • Exposure to performance‑social media (or actual working experience) is considered a big plus!
  • Local market campaign execution (Canada) including geo/city targeting and location‑based bidding.
  • Understanding of retail media ecosystems (in‑store vs online, omni‑channel measurement).
