The CHEF’S Store Sales Associate helps maintain an atmosphere of superior customer service, promoting the US Foods strategy:

Deliver Excellence, Stop Waste, WIN Together, Speak Up and You Matter. As a key member of our team, you will fill a variety of roles, including Cashier, Stocker, and Customer Courtesy, and must be passionate about service and model this behavior in all aspects of job performance.
During a shift, you will be assigned to any of our departments, depending on our customer and/or business needs. At the direction of store management, you may work in any or all of the following areas:
- Front end of the store, selling merchandise and assisting customers through the checking out process.
- Sales floor working in our Meat/Frozen department, Produce/Dairy department, Dry Goods/Culinary Equipment & Supply department.
- Replenishing freight and rotating product in any department.
- Assist during special store events such as Vendor Fairs, sales floor resets, and inventory processes.
- Front End:
- Ensure all customers have an impeccable CHEF’S Store experience by developing and maximizing relationships with the store’s customers.
- Perform sales and cash functions in the POS efficiently and accurately, including scanning merchandise, using a handheld scan gun or keypad, weighing product on counter top scales, and looking up any product that does not scan.
- Perform cart‑to‑cart transfer of all products at checkout, including visual inspection for product tampering.
- Verify cart content vs. purchases as receipt checker; perform store opening and/or closing functions at the front end based on assigned shift.
- Sales Floor and Stocking:
- Increase sales and manage shrinkage; help customers find products and inform them of additional services.
- Receive inventory shipments, maintain and stock shelves neatly, ensure proper rotation and product quality audits, report low stock levels to store management.
- Label merchandise properly: blaster tagging unscannable items, applying catch‑weight labels and PLU tags to produce.
- Replenish sales floor daily by down‑stocking freight from top stock, following FIFO.
- Use computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel and proprietary software as needed.
- Assist with price changes as directed by the Pricing Lead and Store Management.
- Participate in inventory and cycle count processes as needed.
- Customer Courtesy:
- Maintain a safe environment; follow safety policies and practices and notify store management of any safety issues.
- Keep the sales floor, front end, and restrooms clean; use cleaning equipment as required.
- Keep the parking lot and store entry area clean.
- Gather carts from the parking lot and cart corrals and return them to the designated area.
- Perform other duties assigned or required by Store Management.

Relationships- Internal: interact with employees at all levels of responsibility throughout the company.
- External: interact with customers and other service and product providers.
Work performed in a retail store setting, open to the public. Exposure to outside weather conditions including inclement weather. Noise level typically moderate. Work on a level surface; use of a ladder or elevated surface may be required as needed. Temperature ranges from ‑10 to 85 degrees. Required to physically interact with customers.
Minimum Qualifications- Minimum 6‑12 months retail cashier and/or stocking experience.
- Minimum one year retail selling and/or customer service experience preferred.
- Desire and ability to deliver exceptional customer service and adaptability to assist other employees.
- Provide fast, easy, efficient, and professional service to each customer.
- Demonstrate good common sense, logical thinking, and basic mathematical aptitude.
- Motivated and self‑driven with ability to multi‑task, prioritize and work independently or within a team.
