The Analyst
- Revenue Management
- Operations ensures revenue generation and revenue protection in the critical 72-hour period before flight departure. They play a crucial liaison role between Commercial Affairs and Operations, and must balance the constraints of these two departments to suggest and implement effective solutions that will support the Company's objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Manage Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge and affiliate inventory within the 72-hour operational framework to focus on short-term revenue opportunities and resolve operational issues.
  • Act as the primary contact person within Revenue Management for Operations departments (Network Operations Control, Customer Journey Management, Airports and Reservations).
  • Assume responsibility for providing commercial data for operational decisions, including aircraft replacement with smaller or larger gauge aircraft, cancellations, additional flights and passenger re-routing.
  • Oversee the crew overbooking process.
  • Act as the owner of the "Oversale Priorities" file with Customer Journey Management and Airports.
  • Provide Network Operations Control with data on operational capacity changes, to help balance revenue optimization and operational requirements.
  • Monitor inventory of high-demand flights within 72 hours and adjust inventory to capture additional revenue opportunities, including allocation adjustments, cabin reconfiguration, overbooking adjustments and waitlist removal.
  • Review daily automated "Oversale Priorities" reports, make necessary inventory adjustments and provide a suggested mitigation plan including re-routing, denied boarding compensation and authorization of itinerary readjustments by the call center or airport.
  • Participate in daily conference calls and provide a report on previous day's operations regarding denied boarding and wasted seats, and highlight potential problems for the next 72 hours.
  • Design, implement and communicate goodwill policies for circumstances such as labor disruptions, natural disasters and local security issues.
  • Evaluate the performance of free upgrades and automated upgrade waitlist tools, and make necessary rule changes based on results and Ground Teams data.
  • Manage the upgrade request process. Evaluate upgrade requests and forward them to designated executives for authorization.
  • Review Air Canada's delinquent passenger reports and take necessary action to improve flight validation efficiency and reduce the total number of delinquent passengers.
  • Perform non-compliance audits on involuntary upgrades at the airport and follow up with the airport and designated In-flight Service representatives.
  • Act as the primary contact for airports to resolve overbooking and re-routing issues. Make necessary allocation adjustments, publish audit results and provide feedback to airports.
  • Inform Revenue Management of overbooking, delinquent passenger and denied boarding trends based on flight performance and airport data.
Qualifications
  • University degree or equivalent experience
