About the RoleThe Sales Manager will be responsible for driving revenue by promoting and selling the hotel’s services, including guest rooms, event spaces, and special packages. This role is ideal for a proactive sales professional who thrives on relationship‑building, understands the nuances of the local market, and is motivated by achieving (and exceeding) targets The Sales Manager will work closely with the Director of Sales and Marketing to help reach revenue goals across multiple segments.
As this is a new hotel, the sales manager will have the opportunity to solidify new relationships with key event organizers in Toronto quickly. A strong business development drive is essential.
- Proactively solicit and qualify new business through outbound calls, site visits, written communications, and networking.
- Conduct account research to assess revenue potential and identify key opportunities.
- Collaborate with Revenue Management to develop and implement pricing strategies that support business objectives.
- Respond to sales leads and inquiries within a 4‑hour window.
- Develop customized proposals and presentations based on client needs.
- Participate in regular business review meetings, sales training sessions, and departmental strategy sessions.
- Support the execution of group bookings and events by working closely with operations and other departments.
- Monitor local market conditions, competition, and client behaviour to inform strategic decisions.
- Coordinate occasional sales trips to local or regional feeder markets.
- Use CRM tools to track performance metrics, manage client data, and analyze booking trends.
- Generate weekly reports and quarterly plans to align sales efforts with revenue targets.
- Support hotel operations as Manager on Duty (MOD) on a rotational basis.
- Ensure all hotel policies and procedures are followed.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in hotel sales or a hospitality‑related sales role.
- Strong understanding of hotel operations and sales strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Outgoing, energetic personality with a passion for service and results.
- Experience using Delphi or other sales CRM systems is an asset.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and be available to travel locally for client meetings.
- Post‑secondary education in hospitality is preferred.
