Role Overview
The Director, Capital Raising role will be responsible for representing all of Artisans' investment capabilities. In particular, the role will generate and engage new Institutional and HNW/UHNW relationships in order to raise private investment capital for various private real estate LPs. This capital raising role includes functions such as outreach to prospective investors, cultivating new relationships, navigating institutions and client service.
Primary coverage responsibilities include high net worth individuals, consultants and pension funds, but also extends to asset managers, financial institutions, foundations & endowments and other institutional investors (coverage responsibilities to be determined with successful candidate).
Key Responsibilities
Building successful and lasting relationships and generating sales opportunities with private and institutional investors.
Identify prospects independently.
Actively contact prospects to establish relationships, assess client / portfolio needs.
Prepare and present investment products to key decision makers. Presentations could be structured as RFPs, investment reviews, etc.
Create marketing events to increase awareness of the Artisan's brand and increase the firm and product profile within the institutional client space.
Develop sales strategy and business planning process for the institutional sales channel.
Once clients are established, complete regular client follow‑up meetings to evaluate progress, manage investment review process, achievement of investment targets / metrics, and service excellence.
Understand clients’ needs, advise and structure investment solutions for them.
Formulate business strategies in developing new clients and maintaining existing relationships.
Work closely with different departments to contribute product development and marketing strategy.
Monitor market trends and landscape to identify potential opportunities.
Job Requirements
Track record of building and maintaining relationships with institutional clients.
Strong business development orientation with the ability to collaborate effectively to achieve targets.
In‑depth understanding of the challenges facing institutional clients, including pension plans, endowments and foundations, and family offices.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.
Education & Qualifications
A relevant undergraduate degree and professional qualifications.
CAIA and/or CFA designation is preferred.
5+ years of industry experience in an investment sales capacity.
Significant experience in asset management or investment consulting is essential.
Strong knowledge of alternative investment strategies is desirable.
Established relationships with a wide range of institutional clients, particularly in private market strategies (e.g., Real Estate, Private Credit, Infrastructure, Private Equity), is highly desirable.
