West Egg security is seeking for the skilled Loss prevention Officer (LPO) to join our team at GTA (Greater Toronto Area). In this role, the Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for minimizing financial losses related to theft, fraud, and policy violations. This role involves conducting investigations, performing security patrols, and ensuring compliance with safety and security procedures. The officer works proactively to deter theft and ensure a safe and secure environment for staff, customers, and company assets.
As a Loss Prevention Officer in the retail sector, you will play a key role in minimizing theft, protecting company assets, and ensuring the safety of staff and customers. Your strong observational skills, professional presence, and ability to respond calmly under pressure will support a secure and positive shopping environment.
- Conduct regular floor walks and risk assessments to identify potential security and safety issues.
- Prepare clear and concise incident and investigation reports.
- Work closely with store management to support the stores needs of the business.
- Liaise with police and emergency services when necessary.
- Support customer service by assisting in conflict resolution and de-escalation.
- Promote a culture of awareness and prevention among store associates.
- Retrieve all attempted stolen merchandise as much as possible
- Follow the “Arrest and Release” as per the store policy
- Minimum High School diploma or Grade 12 education
- Valid security license.
- Strong observational and investigative skills.
- Ability to write accurate and professional incident reports.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physically fit – able to walk/stand for long periods and respond quickly to incidents.
- Minimum High School diploma or Grade 12 education
- Minimum of 1 year of Loss Prevention security experience preferably in Canada.
- Excellent written & verbal communication and active listening skills
- Able to work nights, weekends, weekdays, and holidays
