Overview

Allied Universal is seeking Campus Security Associate in Downtown Toronto, for a renowned financial institution.

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule:

Monday to Friday (07:00–15:00) or a Day Shift Continental rotating schedule (07:00–19:00, 84 hours bi-weekly). Final shift assignment will be confirmed at a later stage, as operational requirements dictate.

Pay Rate: $22/hr – $25/hr, with incremental increases based on tenure, performance and completion of courses.

• Present a polished, professional, customer-friendly image at all times.
• Incident response, patrols and inspections of space and equipment.
• Liaise with Corporate security program in compound incident response.
• Staff and guest information assistance as required.
• Record activities and incidents via guard tour management system.
• Walk-safe program for employees working after hours.
• Cross training in other security positions as required (e.g. card holder administration, lobby ambassador coverage, GSOC break relief).
• Ability to manage conflicts and incidents and to deescalate.
• Ensure facility safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to fire alarms and other site emergencies.
• Demonstrate good judgment and decision-making, particularly when required to take charge in emergencies.
• Meticulous record keeping, reporting, observation, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Preferably at least 1 year of security experience in a Class A Commercial/Corporate environment.
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
• Valid First Aid CPR certificate.
• Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work with all levels of personnel and the public.
• Licensing requirements are subject to provincial/local laws and regulations and will be required prior to employment.
• As a condition of employment, successful completion of a background check.
• Display exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Have intermediate computer skills to operate client-specific wireless technology.
• Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and efficiently.
• Physical ability to work in various environments and conditions, including:
• Work in cold weather, rain/snow, or heat
• Occasionally lift or carry up to 20 kilograms
• Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally
• Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods
