Job Description

Position: Security Guard - Event (Casual)

Location: Mississauga, ON

Payrate: $18.00 per hour

Status: Casual (Temporary)

Shift: Sunday to Saturday, 6:00AM - 6:00PM, 6:00PM - 06:00AM, Swing/Rotational/Various

Allied Universal is seeking an experienced Security Guard - Event (Casual) to oversee one of our commercial sites in Mississauga, ON. This position involves providing security and monitoring services 24/7, with a focus on maintaining a safe and secure environment for all personnel and assets. The ideal candidate is a seasoned individual with excellent communication skills, customer service, computer skills, and willing to work various shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Site Surveillance & Patrol:
    Perform regular patrols of the site and surrounding areas to ensure the security of the premises. Monitor all entry points for unauthorized access.
  • Visibility & Coverage:
    Maintain high visibility at the designated posts. Ensure security coverage near sensitive areas within the site.
  • Access Control:
    Enforce site access protocols by verifying the identification of authorized personnel, logging visitor entry and exit, and ensuring that gates and doors remain securely locked when not in use.
  • Communication:
    Maintain clear and constant communication via radio with other security personnel. Report incidents, unusual activities, or security concerns promptly.
  • Emergency Response:
    Respond quickly and appropriately to any emergencies, including medical incidents, fires, or security breaches. Contact emergency services and assist as necessary.
  • Incident Documentation:
    Maintain accurate logs of all security activities, incidents, and patrols. Complete shift reports and provide detailed handover notes for the next shift.
  • Site & Asset Protection:
    Prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access to site materials and equipment. Ensure all property is always secured.
  • Compliance with Safety Procedures:
    Ensure adherence to all safety policies and procedures on‑site, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all personnel.
  • General Security Duties:
    Ensure the overall safety and security of the site and surrounding areas by addressing any security risks or safety concerns that arise during the shift. Support property management with any additional tasks as required.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and wireless technology.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Must have a valid Ontario Security License.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada up to 40 hours a week.
  • First Aid and CPR.
  • High school diploma or equivalent/GED or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, occasionally climb stairs, and lift or carry up to 40 pounds.
