Description:The Toronto Grace Health Centre (TGHC) is a 119-bed facility located in the heart of downtown Toronto. The TGHC provides medically complex, and specialized care and services to those individuals who require Complex Continuing Care, Post Acute Care Rehabilitation and Palliative Care. The care and services provided at TGHC help facilitate the patient flow through the health care system and ensures recovery to those individuals who may return to their homes or to Long Term Care (LTC) facilities in their communities.
Position Details:
Position: (Temporary) Full-Time Security Guard
Site: Toronto Grace
Averaging Agreement : ESA
Schedule: Sunday-Wednesday
Hours: Sun , Mon-Wed
Payrate: $18.40/hrs
Key Responsibilities:
Patrol Hospital Grounds: Conduct regular patrols of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure a safe and secure environmentSurveillance & Monitoring: Operate and monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and other surveillance equipment; promptly report suspicious activityAccess Control: Monitor and control access points, ensuring only authorized individuals enter restricted or sensitive areasEmergency Response: Respond swiftly to medical emergencies, fire alarms, security threats, and evacuation procedures; assist hospital staff as requiredCustomer Service & Assistance: Greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff; provide directions and ensure compliance with hospital policiesConflict De-escalation: Manage and de-escalate tense situations calmly and professionally to maintain a safe environmentIncident Reporting: Accurately document daily activities, incidents, accidents, and security breaches in detailed written reportsCollaboration & Coordination: Work closely with hospital staff and, when required, local law enforcement to ensure coordinated and effective security operationsPolicy Enforcement: Enforce hospital policies and procedures while maintaining professionalism and respect for patients and visitorsMust have experience with handling potentially violent patients suffering from mental health illnesses
Prerequisites:
Valid Security License for the province of OntarioValid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)Covid Vaccine two dosesImmunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step TB skin testMust be able to Clean Shave for N-95 MaskEnglish (oral and written) fluency is a mustPrevious experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the positionLegally authorized to work in CanadaWhy choose Paladin?
