What You’ll Be Doing

The Senior Executive Protection – Close Protection role is a key position within CIBC’s Corporate Security team, responsible for safeguarding the CEO during all movements within CIBC Square, throughout Toronto, and abroad. The incumbent will collaborate closely with Executive Protection drivers, other protection team members, event teams, the Office of the CEO, and the CEO’s support team to ensure seamless communication and security operations.

This role requires the ability to travel on short notice, work irregular hours, travel internationally, and exercise sound judgment in dynamic environments while maintaining a discreet, executive-level professional presence. To successfully perform the work, you’ll be on-site full-time.

How You’ll Succeed
  • Proactive Protection - Proactively ensure the safety and security of the CEO and senior executives in all environments.
  • Act Decisively - Respond proportionately to threats, incidents, or medical emergencies in accordance with law, training, and policy.
  • Team Coordination - Collaborate effectively with internal and external partners to deliver seamless protective operations.
  • Logistics & Communication - Manage movement schedules and logistics with precision to ensure well-orchestrated and consistent protective operations.
Who You Are
  • You can demonstrate experience with:
    Minimum 7 years in executive protection, law enforcement, military, or a related security field; corporate executive protection experience preferred. Security Knowledge:
    Strong understanding of physical security, risk assessment, and crisis management.

    Certifications:

    Current First Aid / CPR / AED certification (advanced medical training preferred). Licensing & Travel:
    Valid security/protection license and passport; able to travel internationally without restrictions.
  • Your Professional Background:
    Law enforcement experience with operational expertise in executive or dignitary protection. Specialized Training:
    Formal close/executive protection and use of force training from a recognized provider.
  • You have stellar communication skills:
    Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Teamwork & Adaptability:
    Able to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to dynamic situations.
  • You are flexible and adaptable:
    Flexible and available to deploy on short notice, work irregular hours, and travel internationally as required.
