Baycrest is an academic health sciences centre providing a continuum of care for older adults, including independent living, assisted living, long-term care and a post-acute hospital specializing in the care of older adults all within one campus.

Job Description

In this key role, you will oversee a state of the art healthcare Control Centre. Your responsibilities include:

  • Monitor and operate numerous systems including access control, CCTV, fire and life safety
  • Make emergency overhead announcements
  • Answer telephones and dispatch calls
  • Assist in tracking and deployment of security staff
  • Handle a variety of dispatch duties including incident call taking
  • Liaise with visitors, clients and staff
  • Manage Lost & Found
  • Manage the issuance and return of facility keys and /Access cards
  • Issue Visitor and Contractor badges
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills
  • Present a professional appearance and customer service orientation for a public-facing role
  • Working knowledge of CCTV and access control systems
  • Experience in a supervisory role and dispatching is preferred
Prerequisites
  • Immunization Record - TB 1+2, MMR, Varicella
  • Double Vaccinated - Full Vaccination from COVID-19 with 2 doses minimum
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Valid CPR and First Aid Certification Level C (WSIB approved provider)
  • Vulnerable Sector Check to be completed upon hire
  • Proficient in English (both oral and written)
  • Minimum 1-2 years of security experience
  • Diploma in Justice studies/police foundations is considered an asset

Education Requirements (All)

High School Diploma/GED

Certification Requirements (All)
  • First Aid, CPR Level C
  • Minimum of 1 year security experience
  • Minimum 1 year of Dispatch or Scheduling experience
  • Police Foundations Diploma / Law and Justice Studies Degree
  • COVID double vaccinated
