Overview This is a unionized, part-time position without benefits. The role involves patrolling the Office Towers within the Toronto Eaton Centre Complex to protect tenants, employees, property and information through enforcement of access control and property removal policies, and to maintain public safety and a problem-free shopping environment. The successful candidate must be able to work shifts including weekends, nights, and evenings.
Responsibilities Respond to emergency situations (medical, criminal, hazards, etc.).
Follow direction from Security Dispatch regarding attending calls for emergency or related security details.
Provide CPR and First Aid as necessary.
Enforce the Centre’s Rules & Regulations and the Trespass to Property Act.
Assist with crowd control.
Perform access control, mall lock downs and open ups.
Maintain a detailed memo book and prepare incident reports on all matters dealt with.
Man the Console in Office lobbies after hours or when a Concierge is not available.
Relieve other guards as required (meal breaks, etc.).
Be helpful, courteous and pleasant to tenants, patrons, and co-workers.
Assist customers and tenants with customer service and security-related initiatives in a professional and approachable manner.
Provide backup support to other guards and assist management as needed.
Assist Police and emergency personnel (Fire Department and Ambulance Service) when required.
Follow security operational procedures from Fire Safety Plan and Emergency Response Plan.
Understand and follow procedures in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Conduct level and zone patrols to achieve high visibility and proactive security.
Complete guard tour patrols of the Toronto Eaton Centre complex as assigned.

Qualifications Current CPR and First Aid Certificates.
Acquire and maintain a valid Security Guard license and comply with PSISA and regulations, as amended from time to time.
Successful completion of annual Use of Force training.
Understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Ability to overcome adversity and handle stressful situations with tact and diplomacy.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to safe working practices and the ability to demonstrate them to co-workers.
Complete company mandatory training.
