Position: Centre for Addiction & Mental Health (CAMH) - Security Guard.
Job Description:You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidentsRespond to coded emergencies in a quick and efficient mannerDisplay excellent customer service skills and be able to work with people who are under stress or in need of medical assistanceThis role requires you to be physically fit and able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time of up to 3-4 hours in between break periods.Monitor for and escalate security concerns within the Emergency DepartmentAssist in developing security plans for high-risk patientsProvide security presence and support throughout the Emergency DepartmentUtilize verbal de-escalation techniques to manage conflictsOversee and support patient watch guards within the Emergency DepartmentWork closely with local Law Enforcement and Emergency ServicesEnsure the safety of staff, patients, and visitors within the Emergency DepartmentAssist facility staff with patient restraints as required or directed according to standard operating proceduresAdhere to all facility policies and procedures and maintain compliancePrerequisites:
Immunization Record - TB 1+2, MMR, VaricellaMust be Double Vaccinated - Fully Vaccinated from COVID-19 with 2 doses minimum.Valid Ontario Security Guard LicenseValid Ontario CPR and First Aid Certification Level C (WSIB approved provider)Proficient in English (both oral and written)Must have a minimum 1-2 years of experience in securityLegally Authorized to work in CanadaMust be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the positionPlease be aware:
The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
