Status: Full Time
Hours: Rotating Continental (Days/Nights) – 12-hour shifts
Payrate: $24.00/hr
Overtime Method: Averaging agreement over 88 hours
Job Overview:
Toronto Eaton Centre is one of Canada’s premier retail destinations, located in the heart of downtown Toronto. With high daily foot traffic, a large number of retailers, and continuous activity throughout the day, the site operates in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
As an Access Control Guard, you will play a key role in managing entry points, verifying access, and maintaining a strong security presence. This position requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to interact confidently with tenants, employees, vendors, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and control access points to ensure only authorized individuals enter restricted areasVerify identification, credentials, and access permissions for employees, vendors, and contractorsManage visitor sign-in processes and maintain accurate access logsMaintain a visible and professional presence at assigned postsRespond to access-related concerns, incidents, or escalations as requiredCommunicate with dispatch, supervisors, and patrol teams for coordination and supportMonitor site activity and report any suspicious behaviour or security concernsEnforce site policies and access control proceduresProvide customer service by assisting with directions and general inquiriesSupport emergency response procedures, including evacuations when requiredComplete detailed reports and documentation related to access control and incidentsPrerequisites:
Ability to obtain a Security License in the province of OntarioValid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved providerPrevious experience in access control, concierge, or front-facing security role preferredStrong customer service and interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenHigh attention to detail when verifying credentials and managing accessAbility to remain calm and professional in a high-traffic environmentComfortable working in a fast-paced retail settingBasic computer skills and familiarity with access control systems is an assetApplicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the positionLegally authorized to work in CanadaWhy choose Paladin?
