Hours

Saturdays and Sundays (12PM to 12AM or 12AM to 12PM)

Overtime Method

Averaging agreement over 88 hours

Job Overview

Hudson’s Bay Centre is a landmark mixed‑use property located in the heart of downtown Toronto, featuring a blend of office, retail, and public spaces. The site serves a diverse community of tenants, visitors, and customers, creating a dynamic environment where security professionals play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a visible presence across the property to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized activity
  • Conduct regular patrols of the mall, including common areas, entrances, and high‑traffic zones
  • Monitor site activity and identify any safety or security concerns
  • Respond to incidents including disturbances, theft, medical calls, and emergencies
  • Provide strong customer service by assisting tenants, employees, and visitors with directions and inquiries
  • Enforce policies, procedures, and safety regulations
  • Communicate effectively with supervisor, and team members
  • Complete detailed incident reports and daily logs in a timely manner
  • Assist with crowd management during peak periods and special events
  • Support emergency procedures including evacuations and coordination with emergency services
Prerequisites
  • Ability to obtain a Security License in the province of Ontario
  • Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
  • Previous experience in security, retail, or customer service is an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong observation and situational awareness
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high‑pressure situations
  • Strong report writing and documentation skills
  • Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
