Campus Safety Sergeant

Position: Campus Safety Staff Sergeant Opportunity
Lead security efforts at the University of Toronto Scarborough as a Staff Sergeant. Work with a dedicated team and ensure safety across the campus while managing emergency responses and law enforcement services.

The University of Toronto Scarborough seeks a Staff Sergeant for its Campus Safety department. Under the Assistant Director, you will manage operations including Corporals, Constables, and Building Patrol staff. The role involves upholding campus safety, community engagement, and collaboration with diverse groups while providing 24-hour emergency responses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct operations for campus safety personnel on rotating shifts

• Manage emergencies and enforce campus rules

• Supervise investigations and interpret Collective Agreements

• Maintain communication with students and faculty

• Ensure compliance with legal requirements and community needs

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in law enforcement or equivalent

• Minimum 5 years in law enforcement, preferably in a campus setting

• 2 years supervisory experience in a similar environment

• Strong report writing and communication skills

• Valid Class G driver’s license required
