Hours: Rotating Continental (Days/Nights) 12-hour shifts
Payrate: $24.00
Overtime Method: Averaging agreement over 88 hours
Job Overview:
Toronto Eaton Centre is one of Canada’s premier retail destinations, located in the heart of downtown Toronto. With high daily foot traffic, a wide range of retailers, and constant activity, the site operates in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
As a Mall Patrol Guard, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe and secure environment through active patrols, visibility, and timely response to incidents. This role requires strong observation skills, professionalism, and the ability to interact effectively with the public in a high-traffic setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular interior patrols throughout the mall, including common areas, corridors, entrances, and exitsMaintain a visible presence to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized activityMonitor shopper and tenant activity, identifying and addressing potential safety or security concernsRespond to incidents including disturbances, thefts, medical calls, and emergenciesProvide strong customer service by assisting visitors with directions and general inquiriesEnforce mall policies and procedures, including trespass and loitering guidelinesWork closely with dispatch, supervisors, and other team members to coordinate response effortsComplete detailed incident reports and daily logs accurately and in a timely mannerAssist with crowd management during peak hours, sales events, and special eventsSupport emergency procedures including evacuations and coordination with emergency servicesPrerequisites:
Ability to obtain a Security License in the province of OntarioValid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved providerPrevious experience in retail, mall, or high-volume security environment is an assetStrong observation and situational awareness skillsExcellent customer service and communication skillsAbility to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situationsStrong report writing and documentation skillsComfortable standing and walking for extended periodsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamApplicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the positionLegally authorized to work in CanadaWhy choose Paladin?
