Security Principal Digital Platforms

RBC is hiring a Senior Security Principal to lead security in Digital Platforms. Ensure compliance with security standards and enhance secure design strategies within digital teams.

This role places you at the heart of our digital development initiatives, embedding security accountability as you guide teams in adopting secure design patterns and effective risk management. You’ll translate complex regulatory obligations, including those from OSFI and PIPEDA, into actionable engineering requirements that enhance our client-facing platforms. Your position gives you the authority to escalate concerns and withhold sign-offs until proper remediation is achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in digital team planning as a security authority

• Shift security considerations to the design phase

• Safeguard API security and client data handling

• Translate regulations into engineering directives

• Report security maturity to executive teams

Requirements:

• 7-10+ years of experience in cybersecurity

• Demonstrated experience in agile product development

• Proven knowledge of application security and threat models

• Background in regulated financial sector platforms

• Understanding of relevant compliance requirements
