Primary Objectives

HSB is seeking an experienced Claims Adjuster to join our team in our downtown Toronto office. The ideal candidate is client-focused, self-motivated, and driven to deliver exceptional service.

In this role, you will be responsible for the prompt, professional, and effective investigation and adjustment of specialized personal lines claims. You will serve as a key liaison for HSB, supporting our strategic goal of strengthening claims capabilities and enhancing the client experience.

Job Responsibilities

In compliance with established company standards and procedures, and in observance of superior customer service practices, the main responsibilities of this position involve:

  • Full-cycle claims handling, from First Notice of Loss to final settlement and payment.
  • Managing the full claims lifecycle, from First Notice of Loss through to final settlement and payment.
  • Advising insureds on claim-related matters and delivering timely, high-quality service.
  • Negotiating settlements and resolving complex claim issues.
  • Collaborating with insureds and client companies to provide guidance and facilitate effective claim resolution.
Qualifications
  • University Degree and/or CIP designation completed or in process.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience handling personal property lines claims (home or equipment).
  • Cyber claims experience is considered an asset.
  • Valid Adjuster License permitting claims handling in additional provinces (e.g., New Brunswick, Newfoundland, and/or PEI) is considered an asset.
  • Bilingual in French and English is considered an asset.
  • Strong negotiation skills combined with excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities.
  • Sound judgment and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and database systems.

Our base salary range for this role is between $75,420 and $87,990 per year , plus an opportunity for an annual company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay.…
