Salary Range: 94, (based on a 35‑hour workweek).

Annual Bonus Target:
Based on the Base Salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance).

Share plan & other savings: up to 12% of salary or more (ask how you can earn guaranteed income for life).

• Obtain and analyze underwriting data, perform financial analysis and apply critical thinking on underwriting decisions and client relationship issues.
• Analyze financial position of current and new contract clients.
• Provide recommendations to management on contract surety bond support for existing and prospective contract clients.
• Negotiate specific terms and conditions for issuing Contract Surety bonds to clients.
• Monitor the development projects and exposures.
• Develop new business through networking and marketing with brokers, clients, contractors, consultants, lawyers, and other market participants.
• Gain and expand industry knowledge to improve underwriting decisions.
• Represent Intact at contractors’ associations and industry‑related functions.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance.
• Experience – minimum 3 years for Senior Underwriter and 7 years for Specialist role in contract surety or commercial lending, and/or experience in commercial insurance underwriting or brokerage capacity.
• Solid understanding of financial statements.
• Demonstrated capability for outstanding customer service.
• Proven track record for quick, accurate problem resolution.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with co‑workers in a team setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• No Canadian work experience required, but must be eligible to work in Canada.
