, we’re looking for a dynamic Team Lead for our Toronto SME Commercial Risk Placement Team. In this role, you will be a senior resource and mentor to the team, handling a book of commercial clients and responsible for creating, securing, and delivering top‑notch insurance programmes.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Active senior resource for Commercial SME risk placement brokers
  • Handle file escalations
  • Participate in the development and growth of individual team members
  • Effectively service a book of assigned commercial clients
  • Work effectively with sales and senior account managers
  • Complete coverage‑gap analysis
  • Effective cross‑sell and up‑sell
  • Negotiate valuable insurance programmes for commercial clients
Qualifications Required
  • RIBO licence, active and in good standing, is required
  • Minimum three years of commercial insurance brokerage experience
  • Minimum three years experience in a Team Lead position
  • Knowledge of specialty products and/or segment needs would be an asset (e.g. Cyber, D&O, E&O, etc.)
  • Other industry qualifications, such as CAIB, CIP, CRM, etc., would be considered an asset
  • Post‑secondary education would be considered an asset

  • Exceptional customer service skills with strong business acumen
  • Sales‑driven approach to account management, the ability to identify coverage gaps, and upsell/cross‑sell
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must be a team player and have strong work ethic
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Organised with effective time‑management skills
  • Self‑directed and able to coordinate multiple placements for large multi‑line accounts
  • Ability to use creativity in structuring product proposals and documentation
  • Advanced computer skills with experience in MS Office, EPIC, Applied Systems
