Behaviour Support Worker

Position: Behaviour Support Worker with VHA Home HealthCare
Make a difference as a Behaviour Support Worker with VHA Home Health Care, providing direct support for children struggling with Autism and developmental conditions. This role emphasizes family respite and creating safe, engaging environments.

Your responsibilities will include working with youth up to 18 years, implementing care plans tailored to their recreational and emotional needs. You will be an integral part of their support system, observing behaviors and participating in care meetings to enhance client well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide home-based care to youth with Autism and developmental challenges

• Administer and log prescribed medications according to procedures

• Support personal hygiene and care routines with individuals

• Enact behavioral strategies as outlined in the Behavioral Support Plan

• Document care details and maintain program reports properly

Requirements:

• Degree in Social Work or related field preferred

• CPR, First Aid, and Non-Violent Crisis Prevention certifications necessary

• Minimum 2 years of relevant clinical experience preferred, new grads encouraged to apply

• Experience with children facing emotional and developmental challenges essential

• G License and driving required
