The Lead Registered CFAA Technician will be a part of a dedicated team that specializes in navigating the complex field of Fire Prevention and Life Safety, enabling our clients to make informed decisions and meet regulatory requirements for safety. As a member of Ignis Building Solutions, you will:

Be a part of a professional team, interacting with clients, contractors, architects, consultants, industry organizations, and standards to assess, install, provide maintenance, and repair malfunctions in fire alarm systems.

Work on multiple projects simultaneously and provide timely updates on each one for the team.

Provide excellent customer service, providing professional support and solutions.

Hold a valid CFAA registration in good standing with up-to-date continuing education credits.

As a Lead Registered CFAA Technician you will:

Install fire alarm systems in new construction or existing buildings according to blueprints, design specifications, and applicable codes and standards.

Conduct routine maintenance and testing of fire alarm systems to ensure they are functioning properly and complying with regulatory requirements.

Diagnose and repair malfunctions or faults in fire alarm systems.

Write reports related to inspections, audits, and assessments.

Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and maintenance activities performed.

Respond to emergency calls or alarms related to fire alarm systems, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions to restore functionality.

Interact with clients, building owners, and other stakeholders to address concerns, provide technical support, and ensure satisfaction with fire alarm systems.

Maintain positive client rapport and relations with client accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.

Provide feedback and suggestions on system enhancements/improvements.

Attend client meetings and engage with authorities having jurisdiction.

Stay up-to-date with relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing fire alarm systems.

Adhere to all health and safety protocols and procedures while performing installation, maintenance, and testing activities.

Provide training and guidance to building occupants or maintenance personnel.

Manage projects from start to finish, balancing multiple schedules and priorities with updates along the way.

Ensure adherence to relevant codes and standards (Fire Protection and Prevention Act, Ontario Fire Code, Building Code Act, Ontario Building Code, Provincial Offences Act, OFM Technical and Public Fire Safety Guidelines, and related standards and legislation).

Travel as necessary for business meetings, client engagements, and industry events.

All you need is:

A valid CFAA (Canadian Fire Alarm Association) registration & up-to-date Continuing Education Credits.
A minimum of 1-2 years of field experience.
Experience conducting building and property inspections.
Experience installing fire alarm, clean agent, and other fire protection systems and equipment is an asset.
Experience reading blueprints, installation guides, and technical documents.
Knowledge of the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, Ontario Fire Code, Building Code Act, Ontario Building Code, Provincial Offences Act, OFM Technical and Public Fire Safety Guidelines, and related standards and legislation is an asset.
Appropriate set of hand tools.
First Aid and Working from Heights certification.
A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle – able to travel around the GTHA.
Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage own workflow.
Excellent organization, accuracy, and time management skills.
Advanced proficiency by quickly adapting to new technology and easily acquiring new technical skills.
