Position Summary:
CSN Collision is looking for an Auto Body Technician to join our team. The Auto Body Technician is responsible for repairing or restoring damaged vehicles to their original structural integrity, function, and appearance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and capable of multitasking to accommodate shifting priorities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Review damage reports and repair estimates; plan work accordingly
- Examine collision damage thoroughly, review exterior body parts, check power accessories, and ensure no warning lights are active
- Perform structural and body repairs, including replacing front end components, doors, frames, and underbody parts
- Straighten bent frames with pulling and anchoring equipment; hammer out dents and defects
- Weld using MIG and spot welders
- Dismantle damaged vehicle areas to identify hidden damages early in the repair process
- File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces; mask and prepare surfaces for painting
- Apply primers, paint surfaces, and restore vehicle to factory specifications
- Inspect repaired vehicles and conduct test drives for proper handling
- Read and interpret repair estimates and procedures
- Work with various metals, plastics, glass, electrical, and mechanical parts
- Use frame and measuring equipment; disassemble and reassemble vehicles
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Minimum 3+ years of auto body repair and refinishing experience
- Auto Body Collision and Damage Repairer (310B) Red Seal License or in a registered apprenticeship (preferred but not mandatory)
- I-Car and OEM certifications are advantageous
- Welding certification (I-Car) preferred
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs, stand, sit, walk, reach
- Valid driver’s license required
- Own tools and safety footwear
- Up-to-date compliance training (AODA, WHMIS, safety awareness, workplace violence/harassment, PIPEDA)
- 3-5 years of experience with Mitchell/Audatex
