Electrician - Plant Operations & Maintenance - Regular Full-Time  )

• To carry out routine inspections, repairs and maintenance to electrical equipment and systems throughout the Hospital as assigned.
• Regularly inspect, test and repair as required: electrical distribution equipment, generators and controls, motors, variable speed drives, fire alarm systems, beds, security systems, paging systems, HVAC units and other equipment.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance on high voltage equipment.
• Install electrical systems as part of renovation projects as assigned.
• Create and maintain accurate records according to legislative requirements and departmental policies.

• Minimum Secondary school diploma plus completion of Trade and Apprenticeship program required.
• Valid Province of Ontario Certificate of Qualification as an Electrician required.
• Significant recent related experience as an electrician required, ideally in a hospital/healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated thorough understanding of all applicable legislation, regulations, building codes related to electrical applications.
• Ability to read electrical blueprints required.
• Fire alarm ticket and high voltage experience an asset.
• Extensive experience performing electrical repairs, trouble-shooting and solving electrical problems and working on controls required.
• Demonstrated good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Demonstrated good ability to solve problems and work on own initiative.
