Description Our client in the rail industry is seeking 4 Electrical Technicians to join their team.
Purpose of the job
As an Electrical Technician, you will provide technical expertise in troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment. Provide coaching and guidance to other staff to heighten their abilities . A role model and a team player, who demonstrates organizational commitment and awareness. Must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions, as well as in a 24-hour, 7 days a week working environment and must work safely and follow all work procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the safety, availability, and reliability of the Power supply and Distribution (PS&D)
System including the power substation equipment, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), cabling, OCS, 'Blue Light Stations' (BLS), and Tunnel LightingAccess to vehicles, tracks, spares, materials, tools, equipment, training, manuals, and procedures for the PS&D maintenanceRecommending and implementing techniques and procedures that ensure maintenance to the PS&D System is conducted safely, reliably, efficientlyDiagnosis and rectification of failures and emergency incidents within established guidelinesThe PDS technician supports a 7-day week rail operation, working rotating shifts, on a continuous seven-day cycle performing all technical work related to TPS maintenanceAdherence to the Custodial, Preventative, and Rehabilitation Maintenance schedulesInspects, tests, and repairs internal distribution cables and electrical substation equipmentPerforms inspections, maintenance, and repairs on traction power voltage, monitoring systems, charging systems, circuit breakers, and other TPS componentsTroubleshoot, analyze and isolate malfunctions, inspect, test, modify and maintain traction power voltage, monitoring systems, charging systems, circuit breakers, and other TPS componentsPerforms complex repair troubleshooting; safely using and maintaining hand and power tools and test equipment related to workPerforms preventative maintenance on traction power substations, and maintains parts inventory to maintain proper working conditionsEnsures proper safety precautions are followed, particularly around energized circuitsPrepares written reports, documents defects and repairs on inspection forms and on work orders using maintenance softwareOperates boom, bucket, and tower truck, and other equipment and tools. Performs other duties as requiredConduct daily tailboard meetings and complete appropriate Hazard Risk Assessment formsWork with and assist other departments as needed. Actively participates in safety meetings and Emergency PreparednessTaking contingency actions as required in the shortest time to prevent unnecessary interruptions of power or delay in serviceWork with other agents as required to ensure the safety and reliability of the systemJob Requirements
Basic Requirements
2 - 3 year work experience in the Electrical maintenance field.309A or 442A in good standingMust possess a valid Class G Driver's license.Underground/OH High Voltage ExperienceFamiliarity with AC / DC power and control systemsCapable of using computers and computer control systemsTraveling off-site to outpost locations for repairs, troubleshoot and repairing equipment.Proficient in English reading, writing and speaking skills required.Competencies
