OPM is recruiting on behalf of a respected Toronto-based non-profit organization that operates a trauma-informed, anti-human trafficking (AHT) live-in treatment program for high-needs youth.
As a Child & Youth Worker
, you will provide care, supervision, therapeutic support, crisis intervention, safety monitoring, and structured routines within a residential environment. You will collaborate with clinicians, peer support workers, and interdisciplinary team members to support healing, regulation, and long-term stabilization.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide care, supervision, and emotional support to youth within a trauma-informed residential environment
- Support youth wellbeing, daily functioning, life skills, and therapeutic goals
- Participate in treatment programming
, meetings, and care planning discussions - Monitor safety through room checks, environmental scans, and crisis de-escalation
- Maintain a safe, clean, and structured residential environment in line with licensing standards
- Complete documentation, shift reports, safety logs, and administrative requirements (per MCCSS and organizational policies)
- Support a non-judgmental, relationship-based, strengths-focused environment
- Uphold equity-based, anti-oppressive, and inclusive practices in daily interactions
- CYC/CYW Diploma or Degree
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a live-in treatment, residential, group home, shelter, or high-needs youth setting
- Strong knowledge of:
- Crisis management & intervention
- Trauma-informed care
- Harm reduction, conflict resolution, motivational interviewing
- Gender-based violence, sexual exploitation & human trafficking
- Understanding of:
- Child Welfare systems, CYFSA, Ministry standards
- Social determinants of health & systemic violence
- Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Accessibility (IDEA)
- Anti-oppressive, anti-racism, and anti-Black racism frameworks
- Strong emotional intelligence, relational awareness, and professional boundaries
- Ability to work in a 24/7 residential program (overnight, weekend, or relief as applicable)
- Experience or lived experience connected to exploitation, trafficking, or gender-based violence
- Experience in youth shelters or gender-based violence programs
- Certified in CPR/First Aid, CPI or similar crisis training
- Fluency in another language (including ASL)
- Valid drivers license & vehicle (asset)
