Coordinator, Camp Program
Scope and Summary of Primary Responsibilities
The Coordinator, Camp Program will work with the camp management team to maintain the highest level of guest and staff experience. This position will provide assistance with the scheduling of staff; the coordination, supervision and facilitation of guest programming; and responding to guest feedback. The Coordinator, Camp Program will also be responsible for assisting in staff and volunteer training and coaching.
Essential functions
Assist in creating a training schedule for staff members, in order to ensure that all required topics are coveredFacilitating assigned staff training sessions in an engaging and educational waySupport with screening, staff interviews, and onboarding, as neededPlan for staff arrival to camp, including organizing details of arrival, welcome bags, and eventsProvide support in planning, scheduling and implementation of all camp programmingEnsure program/lesson plans are created and saved in the event the program would have to be delivered by other staff and/or volunteersIn consultation with the Program Manager, finalize the program schedule, ensuring that it meets the needs of guests and staff members, and includes a variety of programs, including new programs, community-building programs and land and water programsCommunicate and update staff, volunteers and guests of any changes to the program scheduleEnsure all equipment and supplies are in good working condition and that there are adequate supplies for planned activitiesAttend programs to ensure superior job performance and guest satisfactionEncourage staff success and development by supervising, coaching, organizing and monitoring work and providing feedback to staffConnect with staff members on a weekly basis to ensure job satisfaction and check in regarding goals, successes and challengesCoordinate and oversee staff and volunteer events to encourage positive staff morale and appreciationComplete staff performance reviews and provide this information to staff membersFacilitate pre- and post-session meetings with staff and volunteers to set expectations for the teamSupport staff with managing difficult behaviours or complex group dynamicsGreet guests at the program office window and respond to any guest concernsPromote and encourage participation in programs through endorsement of activities to guestsAssist guests by taking an active role in all dining room duties, including serving, clearing or being meal leadMaintain documentation of incidents, near-misses, accidents and any events at beyond regular camp operationsTake on rotational responsibilities of “Manager on Duty” – taking the lead role in emergency situations and responding to text message or phone calls on the “Manager on Duty” cell phoneWork as a team member, taking on other areas of responsibility as neededOther duties as assignedQualifications
Education and Certifications
Enrolled in a Recreation and Leisure, Education, Youth Worker or equivalent program an asset.Current (within 6 months of start date) Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check.Current Standard First Aid and CPR “C”.National Lifeguarding Certification (NLS) an asset.Current Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCO) an asset.Current G class driver’s license with current and clean driver’s abstract an asset.Current F class driver’s license, or willingness to obtain, an asset .Experience and Qualifications
Previous experience in supervisory role required.Knowledge and experience in an Ontario Camps Association (OCA) accredited camp an asset.Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership and problem-solving skills.Mature and professional attitude.Organized and detail oriented.Ability to work as a team and independently.Ability to work flexible hours as well as standard camp hours and work outdoors for long periods of time.Work Environment

Salary Range:$20.78 to $22.05 hourly
