Overnight Youth Worker Position

Position: Full-Time Overnight Youth Worker Position
Covenant House Toronto is hiring a full-time Overnight Youth Worker to support vulnerable youth through direct care and case management. This is an essential position focusing on overnight shifts from 10:30 PM to 8:30 AM.

Your role will prioritize the needs of homeless and at-risk youth, using trauma-informed strategies to assess and meet their individual goals. You will work closely with case managers and fellow staff to provide safety, security, and continuous support, managing a caseload of up to 10 youths while fostering positive development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist youths with daily routines and emotional support

• Develop and implement individual care and support plans

• Facilitate life skills training and recreational activities

• Monitor and document youth behavior and progress

• Ensure overall safety and security of the residential facilities

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in child and youth work or equivalent

• Two years of relevant experience in a shelter/ residential setting

• Strong understanding of adolescent development and needs

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation

• Excellent communication and crisis management skills
