This 12-month temporary role is essential for connecting Black students with the resources they need to succeed. You will provide guidance while working alongside community stakeholders to dismantle systemic barriers and enhance the learning environment. Your advocacy will empower students to achieve their academic potential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support students through comprehensive mentoring
• Implement strategies that affirm Black identities
• Collaborate with school staff to promote anti-racism
• Monitor academic achievements and well-being
• Facilitate referrals to community resources
Requirements:
• 3-year diploma or degree in Social Sciences
• Two years of relevant experience in mentoring
• Candidates identifying as Black/African Canadian preferred
• Familiarity with challenges faced by Black students
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
Make a difference through advocacy and strategic support for Black students at TCDSB.
