Job SummaryReporting to the Senior Manager of Equity and Reconciliation, the Equity Service Analyst plays a key role in advancing the SOGIE
* Initiative while contributing to broader equity and system improvement efforts across Ontario’s child welfare sector.
With a primary focus on advancing equitable outcomes for 2
SLGBTQ+ children and youth, the role also contributes to broader equity priorities, supporting cross-sector initiatives that embed equity, reconciliation and data-informed decision-making into system design and service delivery. This role supports implementation by translating strategic priorities into actionable plans, projects and resources, ensuring that evidence and community voice are reflected in practice, policy and accountability mechanisms across the sector.

SLGBTQ+ children, youth, families and staff in the child welfare sector, individuals who self-identify as part of this broad and diverse 2
SLGBTQ+ community are encouraged to apply for this role.
- Support applied research projects on disproportionality, service gaps and disparities and outcomes for 2
SLGBTQ+ children and youth and other marginalized populations in the child welfare system - Partner with academic institutions and community researchers to produce reports, articles and position papers (e.g., decision-making tool, disparity mapping)
- Translate research and evaluation into practice guides, toolkits and implementation resources for agencies, caregivers and families
- Provide support to a new sector-based working group to establish agency-based dashboards to measure identity-based data in the service continuum
- Disseminate findings through webinars, conferences, communities of practice and digital knowledge repositories for the sector
- Chair the SOGIE Community Roundtable while building new and existing members across the broader 2
SLGBTQ+ community - Coordinate community engagement and communication plans, working collaboratively with sector colleagues and community stakeholders that ensure best practice and alignment with key priorities
- Lead and foster collaborative and coordinated engagement activities and events for the SOGIE Initiative including in-person and virtual engagement sessions, webinars, etc.
- Provide support to member agencies to build capacity in SOGIE-based service and organizational functioning
- Support equity-based analysis into coroner’s responses, legislative reviews and provincial standard regulation changes
- Support cross-sector dialogue and collaboration by contributing to provincial tables, partnerships and knowledge-sharing initiatives
- Maintain and provide guidance on SOGIE-focused child welfare curriculums and its facilitators for the sector
- Partner with MCCSS to improve SOGIE data collection fields in CPIN, with system updates currently in development
- Participate in and support OACAS advisory committees, interagency groups and networks; represent OACAS at various meetings as appropriate.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to networks, project teams, individual member agencies and other stakeholders

Education and Experience:
- Post-secondary education in Equity Studies, Social Services, Indigenous studies, public policy or a related field;
