Join Native Child as a Wholistic Support Worker focusing on anti-human trafficking. You will provide essential support to survivors and at-risk individuals within Toronto’s Indigenous community.
As a critical member of the Bekaadendang team, this role emphasizes outreach initiatives, case management, and cultural education. Your expertise in delivering support and understanding of harm reduction practices will empower both youth and adult survivors of sexual violence. Collaboration with various stakeholders and community members is key to fostering reciprocal relationships and developing effective programs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support survivors and individuals at risk of sexual exploitation
• Develop outreach programs and facilitate workshops
• Educate service providers on human trafficking issues
• Maintain accurate case files and reports
• Collaborate with the Bekaadendang Team and community agencies
Requirements:
• BSW degree with 1-2 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of Indigenous worldviews and community dynamics
• Understanding of harm reduction models
• Strong interpersonal and crisis intervention skills
• Ability to work independently and hold evening groups
Excel in providing culturally grounded support and make a difference in the lives of Indigenous youth and survivors.
