Housing Support Worker

Position: Contract Housing Support Worker Role
Empower Toronto residents as a Contract Housing Support Worker with Wood Green Community Centre. This contract hour role focuses on fostering independence through dedicated support and community resource linkage.

In this position, you will engage with clients to provide ongoing assistance, particularly for those transitioning from homelessness.

Your role will include crisis intervention and tenant mediation, ensuring clients can maintain their housing and connect them to community support services. Successful collaboration with various partners is a key aspect of your contributions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct home visits and drop-in services for support

• Mediate landlord-tenant disputes to avert evictions

• Connect clients with social and financial resources as needed

• Maintain thorough documentation and assist with program reviews

• Participate in community committees for service coordination

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field

• At least 2 years working with at-risk populations

• Working knowledge of relevant housing legislation

• Proficient in crisis intervention and assessment techniques

• Strong understanding of community resources in Toronto
