Position: Full-Time Shelter Support Worker Role

Located at 348 Davenport Road, this position requires dedication for 35 hours a week, focusing on young women and gender diverse individuals. Your responsibilities will encompass crisis support, advocacy, and workshop development, ensuring resident safety within a feminist framework. Previous experience working with clients facing trauma is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement effective support strategies for residents

• Provide essential daily support services to clients

• Complete risk assessments and safety planning for residents

• Use mediation and counseling skills for a supportive environment

• Advocate for clients facing homelessness and trauma

Requirements:

• Completion of a BSW or equivalent in related field

• 3-5 years experience in counseling at-risk populations

• Knowledge of harm reduction principles and trauma-informed care

• Completion of relevant workshops on mental illness and crisis management

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
