Position: Shelter Support Worker in Downtown
Make a difference in your community as a Shelter Support Worker at YWCA Toronto. This part-time role is focused on empowering women and gender-diverse individuals through community care and support.

Working within a framework of social justice, the Shelter Support Worker will aid participants navigating homelessness and systemic barriers. Collaborate with a diverse team to promote safety, dignity, and autonomy in a supportive environment across several shelter locations. You will engage participants in life skills and programming while ensuring seamless service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver emotional support and crisis management

• Assist with nutritious meal preparation and serving

• Keep thorough documentation of participant interactions

• Support access to healthcare and social services

• Facilitate engaging group programming initiatives

Requirements:

• Relevant diploma in Social Service Work

• Experience in direct service settings (1-3 years)

• Knowledge of gender-based violence impacts

• Strong crisis intervention and communication skills

• Proficient with client management software
