Street Outreach Worker

Position: Full-Time Street Outreach Worker
Become a Street Outreach Worker at Covenant House in downtown Toronto, providing critical support to youth at risk of homelessness. Engage with young people, offer essential resources, and connect them to life-changing services.

This full-time, permanent role focuses on outreach, building trust with vulnerable youth through trauma-informed approaches. You will work collaboratively to address immediate needs, such as food and clothing, while also facilitating connections to longer-term solutions like housing and health services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct outreach in shelters and community areas

• Build trusted relationships using harm reduction practices

• Provide food, hygiene supplies, and crisis support

• Distribute harm reduction tools like naloxone kits

• Assist youth with navigating systems and accessing services

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in Child & Youth Work or Social Work

• 2-3 years experience with vulnerable youth

• Familiarity with de-escalation and crisis intervention

• Proficiency in documentation systems like ETO

• Commitment to anti-oppressive practice and social justice
