In this Outreach Services role, your primary focus will be on community integration for Indigenous inmates. You will perform intake assessments, craft release plans, and offer counseling sessions while actively promoting the integration of Indigenous culture in all services provided. Establishing connections between inmates, their families, and institutional staff can make a profound difference in their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate traditional teachings and cultural workshops
• Assist inmates with developing individual release plans
• Educate correctional staff on Indigenous histories
• Maintain accurate records and attend committee meetings
• Connect clients to necessary community resources
Requirements:
• Educational background in social work or community justice
• 3-5 years of relevant social services experience
• Strong crisis management and time-management skills
• Cultural competency regarding systemic issues
• Valid certifications required for the role
