Reporting to the Manager of Services and Operations, you will be tasked with facilitating communication and interaction for those who are Deafblind.
Your role includes working collaboratively to provide personalized assistance and empower individuals to engage fully within their communities. This position requires a strong commitment to enhancing clients’ quality of life through advocacy and support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver one-on-one support to Deafblind individuals
• Enable access to vital information and resources
• Provide environmental insights and sighted guidance
• Work alongside clients to determine specific support levels
• Encourage participation in social activities and self-advocacy
Requirements:
• Diploma or degree in human services or similar
• Familiarity with Deafblind culture and health issues
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt and work with minimal supervision
• Experience with assistive technology considered an asset
