Night Shift Youth Worker at Covenant House

Covenant House seeks a dedicated Night Shift Youth Worker to support youth facing challenges in our shelter. This full-time role is centered on trauma-informed care through the overnight shifts of 10:30pm to 8:30am.

In this position, you’ll be responsible for implementing our mission to safeguard and respect youth by addressing their immediate needs. As a vital member of the Resident Services Department, you'll assess youth situations and assist them in achieving personal goals with tailored support plans. Flexibility in shift availability is preferred for optimal support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and attend to youth’s needs every shift

• Manage routines, access to resources, and safety

• Connect youth with relevant community supports

• Attend case management meetings to stay informed

• Document progress and incidents thoroughly

Requirements:

• College or university degree in related field

• 2+ years experience in residential or shelter settings

• Knowledge of youth development theories

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

• First Aid and CPR certifications
