In this role, you will cover various responsibilities, including serving as a sighted guide and communicator for clients who are Deafblind. You will assist individuals in accessing information and skills to make informed decisions about their lives. Collaborating closely with clients, your aim is to empower them in recreation, education, and self-advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support individuals who are Deafblind in home or community
• Facilitate access to vital information and communication
• Provide sighted guidance and environmental insights
• Determine personalized support levels collaboratively
• Encourage active community engagement and social connection
Requirements:
• Diploma in human services or related experience
• Knowledge of Deafblind culture and intervention principles
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to learn alternative communication methods
• Ability to work flexible hours and travel
